Love the hiking trails. My daughter was married there. My birthday party this year was held at one of the shelters.
Rock Bridge is a premier park for the Columbia area. A jewel of the state park system! Do yourself a favor and get to know this park. While the Ice Box is a cool and popular destination for summer visitors, all the trails are worth hiking throughout the year. They are well marked and vary in length and difficulty. We generally hike them under the posted time estimates. Limited number of picnic tables in some areas. Porta potty toilet by Ice Box but a water toilet in the entrance before the Ice Box (toilet closed in winter). Maps of trails available online. Many have different trail heads. Rock Bridge is one of our absolute favorites!
Very cool sights to see. The path was impressive to Devil's ice box, basically like a giant porch as a path. There were a lot of stairs but it wasn't a big deal for my toddlers. The paths are well marked and maintained, but the bathrooms aren't for the weak stomached.
This is a great state park! Good examples of karst topography (sinkholes, caves, natural bridges) and it's accessible in most areas by wooden boardwalks so you don't have to slip and slide in the mud
From there, you have the option to descend the stairs into Connor's Cave, which you can see from the platform. The temperature drop was amazingly refreshing. Once at the bottom, with proper equipment, visitors are allowed to wade approximately 150' downstream through Connor's Cave if they want.
Awesome natural features! The Devil's Icebox boardwalk trail is a must, so long as stairs are not an issue for you. Going in a loop, it takes you to all the best geologic features of the park, including the namesake Rock Bridge formation, and a platform that overlooks a large slot cave opening with an underground stream. On the platform there are lots of informative signs regarding the local cave system, with a detailed map.
